What’s Legal? Paper Is Legal!

As the billing industry evolves with new strategies for A/R and strategies aimed at cutting cost, there are many options available. We should all proceed with caution. Many find the idea of an electronic bill to be appealing due to the fact that it could cut costs immediately by some promised 20% of patients/customers willing to take the electronic route. Unfortunately many are finding that they only have 5-8% at best willing to even give it a try. The truth of the matter is that when it comes to collection, did you inform the patient/customer of the owed balance legally? What if a debtor claims to have never received the bill? At this point you could be in a situation where you have to provide a proof of mailing. At CPSstatements.com, we can provide legal proof of mailing. We also do offer electronic options. At the end of the day, a lawsuit or violation of legal notice isn’t really worth the gamble for such minimal results and set-up costs. We believe electronic billing will have its day as a primary financial communication but as for now, What’s Legal Across The Board? Paper Is Legal!
